If you would like to be taught in a smaller group, or would like to share your weaving workshop with friends or work colleagues then please get in touch - I can either run a workshop from my home, a local village hall or a venue of your choice.

Tuition will be tailored to your ability and achievable projects discussed in advance.

Bird House and Feeder Workshop

10am - 1pm

Suitable for beginners

Weave your very own bird house and bird feeder. This workshop is a good introduction to the joys of weaving with willow. You will learn about the harvest & preparation of willow for basket making and also discover the magic in creating something from nature which can then be put back into nature for the birds to enjoy.

All materials and tools will be provided.

This workshop is suitable for beginners but please not that a certain amount of hand strength and dexterity is required to weave with willow.

Tea/Coffee and biscuits will be provided.

Beginners Basket Workshop

£100

9.30am - 4pm

Suitable for beginners and those with some weaving experience.

A traditional round basket made using prepared brown willow. You will learn traditional basketry techniques in the making of this basket and go home with something beautiful and useful - but most importantly, that you have made yourself.

No prior experience needed but you must have a good degree of dexterity in your hands.

Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

All tools and materials will be provided along with tea/coffee and biscuits throughout the day. Please bring your own packed lunch. Kitchen facilities available in the village hall.

Fruit/Bread Basket Workshop

9.30am - 3.30pm

Suitable for beginners and those with some weaving experience.

Spend the day learning how to make a low-sided round basket in this one day workshop. You will learn how to make a base, stake up and weave the sides, then finish with a choice of borders. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some willow weaving experience.

No prior experience needed but you must have a good degree of dexterity and strength in your hands.

Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

All tools and materials will be provided along with tea/coffee and biscuits throughout the workshop. Please bring your own packed lunch.

Garden Obelisk Workshop

£75

9.30am - 12.30pm

Suitable for beginners.

Spend the morning weaving your very own willow plant supports to grow your climbing plants in style. You should be able to make up to two supports in the morning.

All materials, tools and weaving jigs will be provided but please bring a pair of secateurs if you have them and ensure that you have the means to transport your finished items home afterwards!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with some willow weaving experience.

No prior experience needed, and although less demanding than making a basket, you must have a good degree of dexterity and strength in your hands.

Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing - at Barwick Farm House we will be working outside (undercover if required) so please dress for the English weather.

Berry Basket Workshop with Lunch

Suitable for beginners and those with some weaving experience.

Create a beautiful Berry Basket from locally grown willow. Learn traditional weaving techniques whilst focusing on colour and form, to produce a shaped basket perfect for berries, small fruit or eggs. Finish with a trac border and pegged handle.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some willow weaving experience. A good degree of dexterity and strength in your hands is required.

Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

All tools and materials will be provided along with tea/coffee and biscuits throughout the workshop.

Award winning chef, Emily Lampson, will serve a delicious light lunch made with seasonal local produce.
